Having trouble with your email, username, password or something similar? Call our tech support line at (224) 208-2545. Our support line is available every day, evening or night. You should call if you need help with the following:

JJC Username and Password Information
Your JJC username and password are required to access all JJC technology resources including:
- Student email/Microsoft Office 365
- iCampus (Online Classes)
- MyJJC
- Find Your Username or Student ID Number
About Your Username
- Your new JJC email addresswill besentto the personal email you listed on your application. Your newJJC email address will serve as your primary login and your JJC-provided student email address.It will be in the format of: username@stu.jjc.edu.
- WHEN ARE USERNAMES CREATED? Student usernames are created 24-72 business hours after applying to JJC.
- WHEN DO USERNAMES EXPIRE? If you have not taken classes at JJC in a year, your username will expire. More specifically, student usernames expire after 365 days of inactive registration.
Look Up Your Username, ID Number
Check the personal email you listed on your application for an email containing your new JJC-provided student email address.This email will also list your Student ID number. Your new JJC email will be in the format of: username@stu.jjc.edu. If you have not received it, check the spam folder. It will be from 'admissions@jjc.edu'.
Once your account is created, you can also use our lookup tool to find your username and ID number.
- Security Information Registration
Registering your security information
- Go to the Microsoft sign in page
- Enter your username in the form username@stu.jjc.edu and click 'Next'.
- On the next screen, type your password and click on 'Sign in'
- Click on Yes at the 'Stay signed in?'screen.
- Select Security Info (if not already selected) and Click on the + Add sign-in method to add the desired method.
- Select Phone from thedrop-down menu, then click 'Add'
- Enter your phone number, select Text me a code if you want to receive an SMS message or Call me if you want to receive a phone call.
- Enter the verification Code you received.
- Click on Done to complete the registration process.
- In order to register additional methods, go to step 6 above and from the drop-down menu, select the desired method and continue the steps.
- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using Authenticator App
MFA will be required effective March 29, 2023. Use the steps below to use the Microsoft Authenticator App.
- Go to My security information page
- Enter your username as studenID@stu.jjc.edu and click on Next.
- Select either Text or Call for the verification
- Enter the code you received on your phone and click on Verify.
- Click Yes to continue.
- Select Add sign-in method.
- Select Authenticator App and click on Add.
- You will be presented with the Microsoft Authenticator screen that allows you to install the app on your phone.
- You will receive the following screen when you press Next. At this point you should have already installed the Microsoft Authentication App on your phone.
- On the Authenticator App on your phone select Add Account and then Work or school account.
- Scan the QR Code presented to register the account to the Authenticator App and click on Next. (If your phone can’t scan the code, click on Can’t scan image to get a numerical code).
- Enter the code on your Authenticator app on your phone and click Next.
This is the Authenticator App where you enter the code. - Click Next to finish setting up the Authenticator App.
- Change the default sign-in method to the Authenticator App. Click on Change.
- Select App based authentication – notification from the drop down and click Confirm.
- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using SMS text or phone call
MFA will be required effective March 29, 2023. Use the steps below to receive a text or phone call for your code.
- Go to https://portal.office.com
- Enter your username as studentID@stu.jjc.edu and click on Next.
- Enter your password and click on Sign in.
- Select Text message or Phone Call.
- Enter the code you received on your phone and click on Verify.
- Click on Yes and you’ll be done setting up MFA authentication.

Create or Reset Your Password
Your JJC account is created 24-72 business hours after applying to JJC. To begin using your account, you must first create a new password.
- To reset your password, go to Self-Service Password Reset link.
- Enter your username and complete the captcha then click on Next.
- Select I forgot my password and click on Next.
- Select 'Enter a code from my authenticator app'
- Open the Authenticator App on your phone, select your account to obtainthe code, then enter thatcode onthe verification screen
- Create yournew password and click on finish.
The password must contain the following complexity:- Minimum of 10 characters in length.
- At least 1 uppercase letter.
- At least 1 lowercase letter.
- At least 1 number or symbol.
- The password cannot be one of your last 5 passwords.
- You will receive the confirmation below.
- Self-Service Password Reset - using SMS text or phone call
Create or Reset Your Password
Your JJC account is created 24-72 business hours after applying to JJC. To begin using your account, you must first create a new password.
- To reset your password, go to Self-Service Password Reset link.
- Enter your username and complete the captcha then click on Next.
- Select I forgot my password and click on Next.
- Select either'Text my mobile phone' if you would like to receive a text, or 'Call my mobile phone' if you would like to receive an automated call, and enter yourphone number.
- Enter the code you received and click on Next.
- Create a new password and click on Finish.
The password must contain the following complexity:- Minimum of 10 characters in length.
- At least 1 uppercase letter.
- At least 1 lowercase letter.
- At least 1 number or symbol.
- The password cannot be one of your last 5 passwords.
- You will receive the confirmation below.
- Unlock Your Account
How to Unlock Your Account
Accounts are locked after three unsuccessful login attempts. Follow the stepsbelow to unlock.
- Access Microsoft’s Self-Service Password Reset. Here you will enter your e-mail address, followed by CAPTCHA.
- Select "I know my password, but still can't sign in" and click next. This will allow you to unlock your account.
- You will be prompted to confirm your second factor authentication method such as text message/call or Microsoft Authenticator App. Below are screenshots of using either text message/call or the authentication app. Go to step 6 if you select Authenticator App.
- Enter the code you received and click Next.
- At this point you will receive confirmation.
- If you chose the Microsoft Authenticator App, open the Authenticator app on your phone to get your authenticator code. You will use this code to complete verification. Your account will be unlocked when you click on Next.
- You will receive confirmation of account unlocked.

For security measures, you are required to change your password every 90 days (or at the beginning of each semester).
Quick Reminders
- You areresponsible for any action taken within your own account/login.
- NEVER share your password with anyone, including other college students, faculty, and staff.
- JJC employees or administrators will NEVER request you to share your password with them.
- If you believe your password is compromised, change your password immediately.
Student Email / Free Microsoft Office 365 Access
As a JJC student, your email account is accessed through Office 365 (O365) and your account is part of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite. This means that as a student, you can access programs like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and more for free.
